The 4-20HR-MaxSonar-WR ultrasonic 4-20mA sensor manufactured by MaxBotix Inc., is available in multiple packages to simplify mounting. The different types are the 1” NPS, 1” BSPP, and 30mm 1.5 pipe thread housing along with our 3/4” NPS WR and WRC housing packages.
The 4-20mA ultrasonic level sensor can run on a long cable for installation that separate the sensor from the control device. This simplifies the ability to monitor multiple sensors from a central control device.
The 4-20mA ultrasonic range finders are available with a high resolution output that steps in 1.6mm increments. The 4-20mA ultrasonic range finders have a maximum range of 5 meters and published accuracy that is typically 1% or better for distance to target.
These sensors are housed in a rugged IP67 package for durability to back the published MTBF of 200,000+ hours. There are chemical resistant upgrades so the sensor can be operated in chemical environments.
Sensors accept power between 10V and 32VDC.
The 4-20mA ultrasonic sensors from MaxBotix Inc. have a factory matched performance to ensures that there is little if any part-to-part variance. The 4-20mA ultrasonic sensors only need a single qualification in an application because these sensors are factory matched and calibrated.

The new 4-20HR-MaxSonar-WR sensors are high accuracy ultrasonic sensors featuring a 4-20mA output. These sensors are a low cost, IP67 rated drop-in replacement for use with existing PLC/process control systems. The sensors offer superior rejection of outside noise sources and feature speed of sound temperature compensation.
