The ParkSonar-EZ sensor is a high performance ultrasonic proximity sensor designed for parking garage car detection that allows for simultaneous operation of multiple sensors in one environment. The ParkSonar-EZ sensor, with 2.5V to 5.5V power, provides proximity detection of objects out to a set distance, in an incredibly small package. The ParkSonar-EZ sensor allows users to integrate several sensors into one system and experience little to no effect from the sensor interference than can occur with other ultrasonic sensor solutions. ParkSonar-EZ sensor features an easy to use logic level (high/low) output, and RS232 format serial output.

Easy to Use Ultrasonic Sensors

The ParkSonar-EZ products are designed to a be a simple ultrasonic sensor to implement for vehicle stall monitoring applications. These sensors offer easy to use outputs, calibrated beam patterns, stable proximity information, low power demands and other features detailed in the product datasheet.

The ParkSonar-EZ products are engineered with installation cost in mind. The low per-sensor price of each module allows system integrators to install a large number of sensors with keeping the project cost low.

Interface

The ParkSonar-EZ interface was designed to be easy and intuitive to use. The interface output formats included are pulse width output and asynchronous RS232 serial digital output. Both interfaces work without user code or complicated setup strings.

Power Requirements

The ParkSonar-EZ functions throughout a 2.5V to 5.5V operational voltage range. This low voltage means that installations can be energy efficient and further reduce sensor installation cost. The ParkSonar-EZ sensors have a 2mA average current draw during free ranging operation.

Controlled Beam Shape

The ParkSonar-EZ offers a controlled beam designed to reject small objects (clutter) outside of the central beam area without detecting frivolous or unwanted targets.

Users are encouraged to select the product with the detection zone that best matches their application. In the ParkSonar-EZ product line the product with the longest detection zone is the MB1009 and the product with the shortest detection zone is the MB1001.

Calibration

Each ParkSonar-EZ is tested for proper operation at our facility and comes with a factory calibrated beam pattern to help ensure consistent operation of the sensor even from part-to-part.

Typical Wall Pipe Many customers have requested the option to mount an ultrasonic sensor in a pipe. During the testing and development cycle, we discovered a number of considerations and requirements that must be met for the application to be successful. When all of these are met, a user may be able to achieve the desired level of success for measuring the liquid level inside of a pipe.
