F-Option for Chemical Resistance

MaxBotix Mounting HardwareIn addition to the standard XL-MaxSonar-WR, MaxBotix Inc. has developed the F-Option for additional protection necessary in a few hazardous chemical environments. Extremely corrosive gases or liquids can degrade or compromise the operation of the sensing unit. As a result, we offer a more chemically inert seal which allows our sensors to operate in all but the harshest of chemical environments. In addition to the chemical resistance the sensor has improved performance in wet or dust environments.

MB7950-Mounting Hardware

MaxBotix Mounting HardwareThe MB7950 Mounting Hardware is selected for use with our outdoor ultrasonic sensors. The MB7950 Mounting Hardware works with our LV‑MaxSonar‑WR, XL‑MaxSonar‑WR, and XL‑MaxSonar‑WRC products.

MB7954‑Shielded Cable

MaxBotix AccessoriesThe MaxSonar Connection Wire is used to reduce interference caused by electrical noise on the lines. This cable is a great solution to use when running the sensors at a long distance or in an area with a lot of EMI and electrical noise. MaxBotix Inc., has successfully tested our sensors at a distance of 1,000 ft.

MB7961-Power Supply Filter

The power supply filter is recommended for environments with unclean power or electrical noise. Electrical noise may cause unstable range readings on MaxSonar products. The power supply filter helps clean unstable or dirty power supplies that may cause a MaxSonar sensor to have unstable range reports.

MB7962-Micro-B USB Cable

The Micro-B USB cables are used with the USB‑MaxSonar ultrasonic sensors. The Micro-B USB cables are USB2.0 compliant and backwards compatible with USB 1.0 standards.
 
 

MB7974-Snap-On Horn

The MB7974 is designed to improve the HRXL-MaxSonar-WRS and SCXL‑MaxSonar-WRS performance in snow depth measurement applications. This horn can also increase the range that people are detected with select sensors.


HR‑MaxTemp

MaxBotix AccessoriesThe HR‑MaxTemp temperature sensor is used with the HRLV‑MaxSonar‑EZ series of sensors for automatic temperature compensation. When connected to the HRLV‑MaxSonar‑EZ all outputs are automatically adjusted to compensate for the speed of sound change over temperature.

F-Option

MaxBotix AccessoriesThe exposed materials of a properly mounted XL‑MaxSonar‑WR, I2CXL‑MaxSonar‑WR, or HRXL‑MaxSonar‑WR sensor with the F-Option added are: Aluminum (oxidized surface), PVC, & Flourosilicone (with an additional back up FEP Teflon® seal).

Shielded Cable Attach Option

MaxBotix AccessoriesThe Shielded Cable Attach Option provided by MaxBotix Inc., creates a completely IP67 rated MaxSonar-WR sensor for simple integration of our sensors. The Shielded Cable Attach Option includes 3ft (90cm) of the MaxSonar MB7954 Shielded Cable with a sensor cap to fully protect the pin-out of the MaxSonar sensor. To add an additional length of wire to your shielded cable attach option (3ft included), please order the MB7984 desired length. The length will be divided equally among the total number of shielded cable attach options ordered. Please contact sales@maxbotix.com if you want to change the lengths attached to each sensor.

Custom Solutions

For some of our customers our standard products have not fit the requirements of their particular application. As a result, we have designed and manufactured a number of custom solutions. Some of the product improvements and features have been incorporated directly into our standard products. For other users we have evaluated their specifications and charged a small NRE fee for their custom parts.

Sensor is Tested When providing support, our technical support team may determine that further testing at our facility is the best way to help resolve the issue that you are facing. At this point, they will start the Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) process. This article will explain what you can expect as your ultrasonic sensor travels through our RMA process.

Typical Wall Pipe Many customers have requested the option to mount an ultrasonic sensor in a pipe. During the testing and development cycle, we discovered a number of considerations and requirements that must be met for the application to be successful. When all of these are met, a user may be able to achieve the desired level of success for measuring the liquid level inside of a pipe.
